MyRacehorse Thanks for sharing your feedback with us- we value all of our owners’ input when it comes to our customer experience. We’re more than happy to explain more behind our payouts. To keep the one-time out-of-pocket payment system, race earnings are used to replenish the account. If the cash gets depleted, we pay the bills out of our pocket, only being paid back through future earnings or a secondary stock offering(which we have not utilized to this day). If there is a negative amount in the cash reserve at the end of the career/series, MRH’s parent company takes the loss. If there is money left, we distribute it back to our investors on a pro-rata basis. We hope this clears things up!

MRH tells us that the only money you have to lose is the amount you put up for the cost of a share. But what they don't ever tell us is that there is cost on unrealized gain (moneys won by your horse through their races). You would think when your horse wins a race with a $200,000 purse you would hit the jackpot. But you have to pay for all the maintenance while horse was not running. You see when you buy the share you create a reserve and every day of the horse's career that reserve is used to pay the bills. This is money that you put up all ready and once it gets below desired amount the horse must win purse money to make it up, therefore more cost to your original purchase. Bottom line MRH never explains the cost of upkeep of your horse above and beyond your original purchase.

MyRacehorse You are correct, what is great about partnering with us is that you can never lose more than your initial investment. MRH is all about bringing the owner experience to the masses at a fraction of the cost! We do our best to mitigate the risks associated with racehorse ownership, however, it is impossible to own a horse without also incurring the costs of care! But we’re happy to clarify our Reserve Accounts for you. We try to collect enough cash upfront to get your horse to the races and have cash available for the early stages of their career. We then use the horse earnings to help pay for future training, care, and administrative expenses. Our target reserve is to consistently keep nine months of estimated training and care costs, including insurance and administrative series costs for each horse. As these funds naturally deplete over time, we manage a reserve account to ensure we can continue campaigning your horse and pay for its training and care. To keep the one-time out-of-pocket payment system, race earnings are used to replenish the account. If the cash gets depleted, MRH covers the costs. All of the updates about our horses get sent to us at least 8 hours before the media has it. We are paying the bills...we should be first to know.

As you mentioned, our owners do receive the information we have available prior to the media. When it comes to our horses competing at the highest levels there are media personnel in the barns constantly, however, we believe we do a great job keeping our owners informed as quickly as we have the information!

One race after all the time and money invested, MRH kicks Three Jewels in the butt and throws him away! This will go down as one of their worst actions yet! 'Rehoming' him...is this going to be another hand off to one of their cronies that will take the horse to the races and win with him? The last in a 3 horse Chad Brown Bundle that fell apart, the horses went to other trainers (not CB) and had medical issues. Having trained and raced horses myself, in CA and OR, from Santa Anita to Fair Circuits, I am beyond angry at this decision. This is not looking out for the 'stockholders'.

MyRacehorse At MyRacehorse, we will always put our horses' health and well-being first, including their mental well-being, which is what we believe we are doing with this decision for Three Jewels. It has been a long journey to get him to the races, including multiple physical setbacks, but after his recent performance, we do not see any reason to continue racing him. Over the last two years, we have given him every chance and have been extremely patient with him throughout his journey, for his own well being we have decided to retire him and let him move onto his next career outside of racing. We look forward to seeing him have the chance to transition into a second career and find his true calling off the track!

My Racehorse is a fun opportunity to own a tiny part of a racehorse and experience horse racing. Please have realistic expectations... Success on the track can never be guaranteed and very few horses are capable of being competitive at racing's highest level. There's a reason they call it the Sport of Kings. Also, minor issues and setbacks are very common in young horses. Do not expect to get rich. My Racehorse does a good job of picking well bred, promising young horses. If you have a little "disposable money" and would like a horse (or a few) to follow and cheer for - this is for you. You will get regular updates on your horse(s) and a fun experience. I also really like that My Racehorse is very involved in Thoroughbred aftercare.

MyRacehorse We agree, MyRacehorse is a fantastic way to experience The Sport of Kings at a mere fraction of the price! Owners can expect access to a lot of the perks any owner would expect to receive. From the exclusive content, including updates on the health/training progress of your horse, post-race assessments by the trainer and/or ownership group, updates on upcoming race options, workout videos, and assessments, and often just some fun videos of the horse at the barn or the farm, to the chance to experience some of the tracks’ best accommodations with a group of passionate co-owners, we’re proud of our ability to make racing accessible for the masses!

Where's the Updates? Not happy...

3 horses I have shares in haven't seen an update in 3 months. Really disappointed in not seeing at least a once-a-month update. Two are at 3 months and another 2 ! So much for letting the 'owners' know what their 'investment' is doing. The longer this goes on the least amount of trust I have in the integrity of MHR. Maybe MHR has overreached their abilities to communicate with the investors. Or is MRH cooking up backroom sale deals on nonperformers? They have done it in the past.

MyRacehorse While we strive to ensure updates are sent on a regular basis, there are times where those updates may be fewer and a bit farther between. For example, if your horse is currently on a layover break, whether it be just a break from training or in need of time to heal from an injury or set back, updates may come less often as there is not much to report on in between checks. On the other hand, when a horse is in active training, updates are sent on a weekly basis, sometimes even faster!

Very disappointed with the fact that I will never be able to experience horse ownership the way it’s described on the website. I should have researched better. I would not have thrown my money away. I will never get to experience visiting any of the horses I bought into. I live no where near any of them. Very sad.

MyRacehorse We know owning a racehorse is best experienced when you have a chance to visit your racehorse and we do our best to set up as many visits to see your thoroughbred as possible. We offer tours to visit with your horses on the farm, large MRH events and race day experiences - that are posted on the app under the events section. While we cannot accommodate individual requests, we do our best to provide ample opportunities in multiple locations across the US, offering owners a chance to see their horses in person. Last year alone we had over 300 tours for our partners to visit their horses!

MyRacehorse Hi there- our model requires a one-time out of pocket payment by investors, while we cannot entirely eliminate the risk of racehorse ownership, the best thing about investing with MRH is you won’t ever lose more than your initial investment. As for the naming of our horses, we typically don’t change the name of our horses once they have already been named. Generally, most of our horses are not named at the time they are offered. When you see a name that has a number following it, this is an indication that the horse has not yet been officially named. MyRacehorse allows owners to participate in the fun by hosting naming contests for our unnamed horses. As for selling shares, we hate to hear that you wish to sell your shares, but you have every right and ability to do so. When i made my mind up into getting into myracehorse, i though i knew exactly what it was about. I understood 90%. What I didnt understand is that it is geared as a fun ride with little chances of success. It seemed a no win in the long run story. Running a horse in a low level claiming race , if claimed is a total loss. I will just ride out into the horizon with the couple horses I have left .

We have had winners in some of the biggest races including the Kentucky Derby, Breeder’s Cup, Preakness and several other Stakes. Recently, our 2 YO Manhattan Twist won on debut at Saratoga and is now targeting his first stakes race later this month, as well as a number of other up-and-coming youngsters showing great promise in their first time starts. We’re always striving for the best on-track success possible, however, there are always highs and lows in this sport that every owner in the business goes through.
